Raffaele Pe  today he is the most sought-after countertenor, disputed by conductors, orchestras and groups not only baroque. His repertoire ranges from masterpieces  of the  Recitar Singing  to the work of the eighteenth century, and even higher, up to the twentieth century  Benjamin Britten  and of  Arvo Pärt.

Collaborate with musicians of the caliber of  Jordi Savall, William Christie,  John Eliot Gardiner, to name only the first who understood the enormous potential of this singer by involving him in important and international musical projects.

 

To escape the frenzy of the "market", Raffaele Pe founded his own ensemble,  La Lira di Orfeo , a collective of musicians, artists and researchers united by the study of a constantly rediscovered repertoire. La Lira di Orfeo aims to present the ancient by combining meticulous historical research for a modern execution. Using the words of  Luciano Berio, Raffaele Pe & La Lira di Orfeo , aspire to create a “rendering” of the original essence of this repertoire, harmonizing past techniques with a contemporary sensibility.

 

Following the brilliant debut for Deutschland Radio Kultur at the  Philharmonie of Berlin  and attendance at the  Roman Philharmonic Academy , at the  Society of the Quartet of Milan , al  Festival MITO SettembreMusica e  to  Bologna Festival ,  The Lira di Orfeo is now recognized as an authoritative young Italian voice for the interpretation of vocal music between the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries.

 

Since December 2015 it has been an ensemble in residence at the Music Hall of the Maria Cosway Foundation in Lodi, with the aim of enhancing and passing on the cultural and musical heritage of Maria Hadfield Cosway (1760-1838) in an international perspective.

 

In 2014, the ensemble recorded their first album “The Medici Castrato” for Glossa, followed in 2018 by “Alessandro Scarlatti. Sacred Concerts ” , published by Amadeus, and in 2019 by “ Giulio Cesare. A baroque Hero " , which received enthusiastic reviews on all the main international specialized magazines, as well as the prestigious  Abbiati Award .

 

This season, Raffaele Pe & La Lira di Orfeo will be on tour with the program dedicated to " Julius Caesar" in  Europe  with executions also a  London  ( Wigmore Hall ),  Halle  ( Händel-Festspiele )  And  Malta ( Valletta Baroque Festival ).

He collaborates with renowned musicians such as Jordi Savall, William Christie, John Eliot Gardiner to name just a few who acknowledged the exceptional talent and potential of this artist, constantly inviting him in taking part in important music projects internationally.
